How hard does a high stall tc pull?
. Even with 4 people in the car it pulls harder than my z28 with just me in it even with the 3.73's. It seriously makes me want to just convert my car to a 6spd.
A lot of guys will tell you to stick with a 3500 for DD. Screw that. I have a STOCK cam in my car right now and am running bolt ons and a 4400 until I have the cash to get the cam in. 4400 may be to much for a stock cammed DD, but 4000 will rock. You'll see mid 12s no problem I would imagine.
But i'm definetly going to give the auto one last chance with a stall once i get the money. Trending Topics
. When it comes time the hard part is deciding if i want to go with a 4k or larger. Does it really hit the tires too hard for street tires? Eventually when i do get the money to do this i'm going to put 17x11 zr1's with 315 good year gs d3's on it do you think they should hold up? I couldn't imagine hitting the tires any harder then they get hit now with just the 3.73's. They spin with out even trying right now. But then again it could be the streets around here. automatics for the track
stick cars for the street
a high stalled auto will pull a stick car of equal power VERY hard from 0-65 (traction pending) or so, then as the stalling effect diminishes, you return to the "stock pull".
you are comparing your automatic ls1 to a 6 spd ls2, which you should not do. auto for auto that goat would yank you anyway, gears or not. if your main concern is street racing, i wouldn't advise getting a stall, because it will only make your car harder to launch. with a hook from a dig, a stalled auto will OWN a stick car of equal power and then some, hands down. just for comparison sake, look at my time in sig, then go over to the "drag race results" and read briancws6's post about his new best. look at our 60', et, and trap speed. all i'm going to say is if i had his trap i'd be in the 11 sec club..
in all honesty i could be quicker, as i spun pretty bad..illustrated by the 1.71 short time. i haven't raced on a prepped track yet and that's the best i could do thus far.
edit: i have a 4k stall and i think you should go AT LEAST 4k with your stall selection. but i will warn you, i can leave 10' of rubber - sideways - on my goodyear gsc tires from a 45 roll.

high stall speedsNow that I am DD'ing a 4400 stall I will reccomend to anybody interested in a stall to get no less than a 3800. My 4400 was rough the first week but now I am used to it. A 4000 stall would totally manageable as a DD with a stock cam. I am running a stock cam now but that will change shortly.
98Z28- It will pull MUCH harder than your stock stall with 3.73s. Look at your RPM guage when you floor it. Imagine if instead of starting at 2000 or whatever and building up, it was at 4000 in a second. I don't spin with the 4400 and Mickey Thompson ET Streets if they are hot (they spin a little if they are still cool). However, they are a little pricey.
FireSilverLullaby: When driving a big stall you do not get knocked back in your seat by barely tapping the gas. It is very similar to driving a standard and holding the clutch in just slightly enough for it to rev a little but still get you going.

lol that would probably be way to much for a dd. I'd love to run some sort of drag radial all the time but do to the weather around here you never know when it's going to rain. Luis, what other mods did you have? I find it hard to believe it did not feel any quicker. It does not make your car faster, just insanely quicker. I am going to the track pretty soon but am hoping for low 12s with ET Streets and 300lb diet. Thats a good 1 second drop. I'll post up what I get.

I think i was expecting a more violent launch, "if you expect too much and don't get that TOO MUCH, you can end dissapointed"... I sure was, then went to the track.. .5 less, acceptable for me...
The car is quick anyway, running 12.8s at 8000ft DA
