Default swapping stock A4 and M6 rear ends

I currently have an A4 with the 2.73 gearing (steel driveshaft?) but have been wanting to go to a 3.42 and aluminum driveshaft. So my question is would it be a straightforward swap if I located an M6 rearend and driveshaft to use?If so,what year f-bods would have the setup I'm looking for? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm new to modding cars. TIA

As far as I know, it is the same, except that most M6s came with TCS, and most A4s did not. If both cars have the same options (ie, both have ABS only, or both have ABS and TCS), it will work. I have owned two 2000 Z28s, and installed Moser 9" in both of them (Ok, only helped on the second one <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> , it was no longer mine ), I have noticed no difference between the two rearends other than this. It is an easy swap, you should be able to have the rearends swapped in a couple of hours. Good luck, Shawn
