Default cooler with converter? and lockup questions

i have a yank truck thruster3000, same as a yank 3200 for you guys. they say i don't need a cooler but my truck smells a little hot after some city driving, is that from the converter? should i have a cooler?

i also just got ls1edit, can i do anything i want with the converter lockup? could i hurt anything? i am thinking about makeing it lock up alot more of the time. it wont lock up untill i get into 3rd, it seems like in city trafic the truck should be locked up sooner.

Most definetly get the cooler.Lock up honestly I would leave alone because it could hurt more than it helps.

A cooler is a very good idea, but I don't know if the truck comes with a real cooler or not. The Fbody cooler is tied in with the radiator and is inadequate for performance use, although use of a 160 T-stat (with fan setting) does improve things. If the truck system is the same, I'd add an external cooler.

You can lower your 3rd gear lock-up speed using Edit. I would not lock the converter in 2nd gear, although at very low throttle levels it would probably be ok.
