3200 vs 3600 yenk

3200 vs 3600 yank well i think i've narrowed it down to either a 3200 or a 3600 yank. my question is which one. i want something that will really waken the car up. im tired of this shifting at 1500. i want the shifts 2 be at like 2500 all day long and not feel like a dog and bitch *** automatic wen u hit it. every once in awhile im gonna be going to the track but not every weekend on a stock 4L60E. the car will mostly be a daily driver. i just want something that will waken the car up real nice but still be streetible. also which would match a 228/228 cam better. i was just wondering wat are most of ur shifts at for guys that have a 3200 or a 3600 yenk.

The converter doesn't control your shift points. The computer has that job. As for the converter, you will probably be happier with the 3600. You will still need to get a tuner to set your shift points and raise the rev limiter.

with a converter it'll feel even more sluggish down low. it will take 2000 rpm's to get moving and 2500 to keep up with traffic. they're a lot softer down low, so i'm told. it's up top that they pull harder. WOT is the big speed difference. it'll feel even more snail-like daily driving it normally.

thanks guys. i think i might go with the 3200. seems like more people go with that. might be better for me and my applications. my buddy thinks i should go with the 3200 and the guy hasn't steered me wrong yet.

if you are thinking 32 or 3600 then what you really want is a 4000. you will be sorry you didnt go bigger. i went with the yank ss3600 and wonder why the hell i didnt go 4000 or even 4400 Trending Topics

when i was A4 back in the day, I tried both. went from 3200 to 3600, best move I made with that tranny
now running Th400 with 4K stall
get the 3600 (dont forget the transcooler, delete TM, and shift kit) and never look back

Well, I've recently experienced both worlds...
So...Take it or leave it.
You said that you're mostly going to be Daily Driving with a Stock Tranny.
So more than likely your rearend is Stock too Right?
The Yanks are better at Larger Stall Speeds for the Track.
While the Vigilanti Mid Range Stall Converters 2800-3600rpm are better suited
for the Street/Strip application and won't be so hard on your Rearend either.
I had consistant results of 1.58-1.60 60fts at the track with the Vig.3200
Definitely, do NOT forget the External Oil Cooler. B&M just came out with a
cooler that takes A.N. Fittings instead of Regular hose connection. I would
strongly advise the use of this cooler with the Steel Braided Lines.
Save yourself a big Headache later on down the road.
If you haven't already installed a Shift Kit... DO SO.
"Trans Go" makes about the best for the 4th Gens. You can install it several
different ways to accommidate for your specific needs.

For a daily driver, with that cam and stock gears, the Yank SS3200 would be is perfect, IMHO. The SS series is a well-engineered, tighter converter than other 3200's, and will still hold hills and move the car at idle rpms (800, or so), in both Drive and Reverse. Higher stall converters, even in the Yank SS series, would not be so daily-driver friendly. As good as they may be, no way they can be with a higher stall speed rating. I do love my setup.

Personally i'd go with the SS3600. My car is 95% a street vehicle and coupled with PBA's Trans Go shift kit with his suggestions for a street vehicle and a SS3800 it's pretty tame on the streets.......untill you dip into the throttle

thanks guys for all the imput. my buddy came up with a great idea. get the 3200 yenk then wen my stock tranny goes get it restalled 2 3600. i thought it was a good idea so i think im gonna go that way. i think 3200 will just be more street friendly for me. but thanks again for all ur imput guys.
