I have owned 3 Vig's now and never had a single problem with any of them. Yank on the other hand I know atleast a dozen people that have had problems with the Yank blowing up. The Yank is a better performer but the Vig is a more reliable converter IMO.

I have a Vig 3200, it's great. Certainly noticeable from stock during slow acceleration, but hitting the Go peddle changes things drasticly. I'd highly recommend a Vig 3200 for street/strip applications.

I have a vig 3200 on my car and feel it is great for a dd. After driving ir for a few days i dont really notice it at all. My parents didnt know that I put it in my car(since I am supposed to be saving money for other stuff) and they didnt really notice a difference while driving it. I would have went bigger but planned on spraying the car so I didnt.

I have a Vig 3600 and have had it in since 1996 and over 40,000 hard miles...I had it refreshed 2 years ago when I had my trans built, but it wasn't having any probs, I just figured that PI should look at it after all those years...Vicki at PI said it looked great inside still...I highly recommend them...

I have had a Vig 3200 and now a Multi-Disc 3600 and both converters have been awesome. The 3200 was very streetable and the 3600 is a little more loose but is still streetable. Vig would get my vote.

I had the Vig 3200 in my Z28 with the stock motor. I will be using it agin with my MS3 cammed motor. It is aweseome for DD duty. In my experience Vig. conveters stall a little higher than rated. My 3200 stalls around 3500-3600. Keep that in mind.

all vig converters are underrated there 3200 actually stalls between 3800-4000. but either way you cant go wrong. I have the vig 3200 and love it also vig offers a 1 or 2 year free exchange if you change your style of driving!

All day long. I have owned 2 Yank converters and both were great. Super tight around town and as soon as you go WOT all hell breaks loose. Hell. I'll even use my favorite LS1tech expression: I have a Yank converter and love it.

TCI??? are their SSF series any good?? I was looking at their's on the word of a a few tuners, say that the TCI was as good as the Yank/Vig but the Yank (when it fails) locks up and blows everything up as opposed to the TCI (& Vig, but the $$ is substantial)....
I, like the guy who started the thread am looking at a Converter right now in the 3600 stall range and considered the same as he....

Shhh. Quit providing INCORRECT information.
I drive my car 7 days a week, to and from work 30 miles with a Yank SS3600. It was probably the best money spent on the car, worth EVERY PENNY. The car is actually fun to drive again and once with M/T Drag Radials I welcome all 6-speeds with a 10 bolt to even try
The converter drives very close to stock, the 3.73's out back do help. First gear is where the car really shines. NO more dead spots! The converter went in perfect, needed no tuning, no issues at all. Installed a B&M Trans cooler and havent had any problems to date.
It takes between 1200-1400rpms for the car to get moving. Which isnt alot at all, it really is unnoticable to me now that I have driven on it for 1-2 months. It made the car in my eyes a whole new car, I love driving it again. The way it stays in the pwoerband through the shifts is amazing.
Buy a GOOD converter with a higher STR, plan it out to work with your gears/application. YANK has been great for me!
