What is involved with changing the pump on a 98 f-body 4l60e?

removing the tranny from car. removing pan and then 1 or 2 of the shift solenoids(i think thats what they are). remove bellhousing (T55+ torx bit) and then the bolts on the pump and you can pry it up and out. There is a special kent moore tool to do it, but pry up gently works fine.

be sure to be careful removing the o-ring on the input shaft before you pull the pump housing out. if it gets damaged i've heard it can cause the trans to set slipping codes.
