Only if you don't mind shifting the car all the time.
Manual valve body makes the car a manual without a clutch.
I have a reverse manual valve body in my TH400 and I love it to death but its not a daily driver, just a weekend toy.

Quick question: Do you still need to lift on the gas between shifts or do you just keep it floored and push it into the next gear?

No need to lift. It works exactly like any other automatic you just have to shift it all the time.
I have a 5 speed manual as a daily driver so it would be nuthin for me to daily drive a manaul valve body.

If you have an overdrive tranny and install a manual valve body then you will have overdrive.
If you have a TH350/400 then you won't have overdrive.
Although you can do a gear vendors over/under drive but I would think it could get complicated with shifting and remembering to turn the overdrive on and off.
Best bet would be a 4L80E with a manual valve body if you have the cash.

No.
A manual valve body eliminates all automatic functions.
It will never shift for itself ever again.
Unless you swap the manual valve body out of course.

Your either hardcore and can run a MVB or your not.
Thats not a slam, some people just can't deal with one.
My car has no heat or AC and no power steering, I will compromise quite a bit to make the car faster in a straight line.

i heard someone say one time that you can manually shift your 4L60E or you can leave it in D and it will shift since it is an electronically shifting tranny w/ a manual valve body.

is this true?

If you install a shift kit it will let you hold the gear till you hit the rev limiter, I don't advise shifting a 60E manually though, in my opinion its what helped kill the 2 I had.

Yes, Rossler makes one. They are still quite new as far as the 60E is concerned. Rossler built my TH400 and I can not say enough good things about his products.
