Which stall will be "tighter" with 2.73 gears?
Yank ss3200 with 2.1 STR
or
Yank ss3600 with 2.5 STR
I've tried using search, but am still slightly confused. From everything I'm reading, a higher stall speed is usually looser. But I also am reading that a higher STR is usually tighter. So, would a smaller stall with a lower STR or a bigger stall with a higher STR be tighter???
Note: car has 2.73 gears, stock camshaft.

Also, it is time for new tires and I will be getting BF Goodrich T/A KDW-2 up front, and BF goodrich T/A Drag Radials out back, so I'm assuming I can get decent traction no matter what converter I go with.

think the 3200 would be tighter because it would take less gas to get it moving.
might want to consider a vig 3200, it is supposed to have a 2.5 str. this is the convertor i have and its pretty cool.

You may want to go with more stall. I researched it before I bought my converter and most people say they wish they would have gone bigger. I have a 4K stall and 3.15's and it feels pretty loose. Not unbearable but a noticable change. When I floor it I forget all about the loose feeling it has. Make sure you put a tranny cooler on it after.

i'll tell my friend gav'spurplez to reply to this thread. he has the SS 3200 with 2.73's and my old set of et street radials. he dead hooks each and every time on the street with that setup and the car feels really good driving around town.
fwiw, he has holeshot two AWD cars without a problem in a few stoplight races. Both EVO's

I'd say it would be really close. More STR will make a converter feel tighter while a higher stall speed will make a converter feel more lose. I'd say get the 2.1 if you are going more for the street and 2.5 if its going to be more of a track car. I think you lose a little efficiency with a higher STR too so keep that in mind. When in doubt go with the higher stall speed. I wish I did.

Feels like stock, until you get on it. Shift extension is moderate, rpms drop to about 4400 as opposed to 4000. 273s and DRs = squat and thrust off the line !!
I have not noticed any decreased gas mileage, at least from what i can tell.
Dead spots do not fee las dead now and gotta love the efficiency of a Yank.
Hoping for mid 12s with just basic bolt-ons
