Trans getting Hot or Converter??? Which ONE?
Is my trans getting hot to cause a knocking noise or is it the converter & do you think I did any damage?
Also I have a Stage II trans from Phoniex with the Anti ballon Plates & beefier insides. My converter is a Yank PT 4400
Thanks
Seb
After running one on my TH400 I reccomend everyone run a tranny temp guage.
Its very interesting to see exactly where your temps are.
Considering heat is THE biggest cause of transmission failure running a temp guage for the tranny is just plain smart in my opinion.
So a deep tranny pan keeps the trans cooler? Also I cruise around at 200 210 on my temp gauge on my formula. But I think that is the Temp for the Motor & not the trans.
radiator coolant temp, on a car with stock
fan settings this is just one more hurt (fans
don't run until way too late). That's pretty
likely how you get to knocking. Run the fans
early and the tank and radiator heat exchanger
get better cooling.

I have a B&M Trans Cooler. Any other idea's & tricks?
