What do you guys know about these trannies? can you put one in a f-body?if you can what would it cost?

It's been asked, I think the general concesus was that the gearing doesn't perform as great as you'd expect- and you'd be better of just rebuilding a 4L60E.

IMO 4l60e is better for the track, 6l80e would be great on the highway though...

thank for the info, i was just wondering about that tranny. as you can see in my sig i have a 125 shot, i have been scared to use it because of the tranny, what parts to i need to get to build a good 4l60e (other mods to come small cam stall and dr's) and where can i get them and oh yea the cost????

The 6L80E will fit anywhere a 4L80E will fit ... so since people have put in 4L80E in F-Bodies, a 6L80E will also fit. You would need a transmission controller either from a GM vehicle or aftermarket to be able to use it. Price, it would be quite a bit more than a built 4L60E.

george, the 6sp trans has no tc. it starts out using a huge electric motor and then starts to use the pump to work the trans after the car is moving. john

So basically forget about stalling it up, and shift extension?

And how do you get your torque multiplication then?

what do u mean no torque converter. We're not direct drive oval track guys here

First:
4.02

Second:
2.36

Third:
1.53

Fourth:
1.15

Fifth:
0.85

Sixth:
0.67

Reverse:
-3.06

Converter size:
258 mm
