New High-Efficiency TCI Converters!
#22
I do have results. I was running six cylinder Trailblazer converter in my Trailblazer SS, and it was good for .15 in 60' (2.34 vs. 2.19). The I6 converter was right at a 2,800 RPM stall behind my LS2. I put the TCI MaxEffort 3200 in (closer to 3400 in the TBSS), and my 60' times dropped from 2.19 to 1.91! My previous best ET was a 14.28, and with the new converter I ran a 13.75. The better weather conditions showed an ET difference right at .1, so the net gain over the 2800 stall was .43! If you compare the MaxEffort converter to the stock converter, I saw a .43 ET reduction just in 60' alone! It's safe to say that a .6 gain vs. the factory converter would be very realistic. As always, results will vary from car to car, but a .6 gain in the 1/4 with a sticky tire is reasonable to expect.
Let me know if anyone has any other questions.

TCI MaxEffort Super Streetfighter: 3700 RPM stall speed, 2.7:1 STR - $539.99
What kind of HP will they take? Full weight, bolt ons, gears, 150 shot and drag radials? Spraying out the hole everytime.

What about a 3000 stall for a 750rhp C5-will there lock up be able to handle it and this much power? What's full tilt baby with a billet cover and say a 3 or 5 disc lockup gonna go for?

I apologize guys. I made a post two days ago, hit reply, and went on doing other things. Apparently it did not post or my aim on the reply button was a little off.
The converters will take quite a bit of abuse. I used to run their standard Super Street Fighter in my '02 SS, and I ran heads/cam with a 225 HP dual stage nitrous setup. If you're running full bolt-ons and a 150 HP shot, I would not worry about it at all. They come standard with an anti-ballooning plate.
Vortech - TCI can definitely build a custom lockup converter for you. We're running one in our '99 C5 with twin turbos that we lock in high gear, and it trapped over 152 MPH the last time at the track. I already have an e-mail into our rep at TCI to get some added information and pricing for you.

Brad-Man: Please PM me with your original e-mail. I have completely gone through my inbox and deleted, and any e-mails that I have received pertaining to converters have been answered. It's possible that my spam blocker has not let it through. Shoot me a PM, and I'll be more than happy to answer your questions.

I ordered one 2 days ago (and a deep TCI pan) I just ran a 13.02 tonight at 105.3 with a 1.94 60', should I expect the same gains as you Trevor? or would the gains be less due to me running the Stock tire? I talked to one guy that runs low 1.7's and even a 1.69 on his factory wheel/tires with a YankSS 3600, guy runs 12.5's with just a tune & Converter.. I Can't wait to install this Converter (Christmas Comes early this year!!)

Tony - The shorter tires did make up some of the ET difference. With that said, you're cutting awesome 60' times with the stock converter! I think your new MaxEffort converter is going to work VERY well for you. Considering your 1.94 60' with the stock converter, there isn't any reason that you can't be in the high 1.6x/low 1.7x 60' range. You need to send me a bag of that mineshaft air from Englishtown. Definitely keep us posted as to how well it works for you!
