Help Me
For some reason I thought there were 9 bolts.
Did you pull the bolt that mounts the dipstick tube?
I've personally forgotten that one.
Other than that, it's just a pain to get it off the guide pins/dowels on both sides.
Any time I've seen a transmission that wouldn't come off with a little side to side motion, someone had forgotten a bolt.

I can't remember off the top of my head how many bolts there were to come off, but if you can move it like the above poster said side to side a little and its free from the movement of the block (making sure there are no bolts in it) it's just sometimes a bitch to get off the dowel/guide pins in the block (on each side). If you are up on a lift, using an extra jack to lift some weights off the dowel pins, or a pry bar to gently move it back will help. Dipstick tube bolt is one more good idea, and of course you have the trans crossmember unbolted, right? Driveshaft off? Wiring harness disconnected (although it should still move with it on)..
I can't really think of what else there would be from doing my tranny... good luck
