trans shift hard?

trans shift hard? my tranny started to shift hard on me the other day.
before the other day, the shifts where crisp not hard.
its a built tranny with a 4K stall.
but now the shifts are hard.

The Tranny sudenly hitting unussually hard could be several things , from a slipping converter clutch causing 1870 code and high line to a pcs solinod stuck restricted or unhooked though the latter should set a code .

What if yours does this on the 2-3 shift (part throttle), but you are vacuum modulated? The PCM has no control over line pressure and otherwise the transmission acts normal. It "hits" hard unlike the other gears which still shift nice. The same gear shifts fine at WOT.
