Testing strength and integrity of tranny?
Testing strength and integrity of tranny? I'm putting in a new motor and the only thing left on the car that needs new is the tranny. It's got 127,000 on it with a 3500 stall and shifts fine. How can I test or check the tranny to know if there are any weak spots? Is there a way to find out about how much left I've got before it just goes?

Well first if it has and original 127000 miles you probably need a new tranny now , But still yours is a hard question , about all you can do is scan for codes , check fliuld see it it excessivly burnt, change filter and observe whats in the pan , Drive vehical one reassembled and if there wasnt crap in the pan since putting it back together if there was would be pointless, but assuming it dosent have anything ,drive it how do the shifts feel and or how did they feel before ,

everything in the tranny feels fine now, but i'm curious to know if there are any parts that i can test for that may be weak and ready to break because of the wear and tear.
