Default Thanks TCI

About 2 weeks ago I was having trouble with my TCI SF3000 converter, about 50-100 miles after the install. I was having issues with the TCC, attempting to lock under load on the freeway which was accompanied by a loud "grinding" noise. Anyhow, I posted here looking for a solution and was advised the issue was "normal" or could be fixed with tuning or a shift kit. I decided the best thing would be to get a new converter. So Kevin at TCI offers to send a new converter with a billet front cover, not to mention even offered a upgrade to a SSF3500, free of charge (minus shipping of course) on the condition that I send my converter back. New converter is in and has been working GREAT the past 2 days, and traction is a major issue, especially with the rain we've just had in CA=) We'll see how it holds up, so far so good. I have peace of mind now. Thanks again Kevin and TCI for your excellent customer support and standing behind your product. Now only if they would cover the labor, tranny guy charged me another $300! Can't have everything though...

fastvette,

Sorry to hear about that! I guess I'm just one of the fortunate ones ? Who did or are you dealing with? Kevin W. and Tony have been really good at returning calls and such and pretty much made it a smooth process for me. You might wanna try and get a hold of Kevin, see what he can do if anything. He comes on the board here sometimes. Good luck

Kevin is GOOD peoples!!! Everyone that I know who has dealt with him has been satisfied. I met him in person here in Montgomery a couple of years ago and will say that he is the same in person as he is online or on the phone. TCI is like any other business in that they make mistakes but I would say that they have some good folks working for them and that makes a difference.

I had the same problems with my TCI SSF.. Although it was out of the warranty Kevin and TCI stepped up to the plate to fix the problem. I now have a SSF with the billet cover and it is working great. TCI has the best customer server IMHO

Definately give Kevin Winstead a call if you have any problems... I just got my converter from him a few weeks ago and so far its doing great. We will see how it does at the track in a week or two. Its an Ultimate Street Fighter converter and Loyle from TCI met me at a local track to save me on shipping.. Thats some top notch customer service!

Wow guys, i hope i can get my issues worked out. I bought a TCI breakaway back in march and had bad vibrations since then. I have replaced all kinda of parts and even had the tranny looked over chasing this issue. We finally found out that the TC was not balanced correctly. On top of all the wasted money and time the TC stopped locking up this past tuesday. What really sucks is that i was not able to find this issue while it was still under warranty. I wonder if i can get some kind of deal on a 3500 for when i get my cam in that i have been saving up for about a year now.

i had issues with 2 seperate ssf converters. kevin took care of me both times, and the second time he built me the billet front multi-disk converter that i ran for a quite a while, bottum 11's. never had a problem with it. kevin w. is a good guy, but hard to get ahold of sometimes. you gotta just keep trying since he is busy sometimes.
