Default Yank ST 3500 Opinions Please

I have heard vastly different opinions on this converter. Some say it is too loose for daily driving, while some say it is a great street converter and drives like stock. What is your opinion. What is your opinion of the new Yank ST3200? BTW. I have a C5 with 3.42 gears.

In my opinion, the Yank Super Thruster 3500 is the ultimate street/strip converter. Its driveability is very good and its racing prowess is very strong. I have one and it's the best of all 11 converters I've owned in LS1 powered vehicles. Let me put it to you this way...95% of LS1 drivers who get a converter below 3500 stall, upgrade to a higher stall within a year.

Converter swaps on C5s are very expensive. Do yourself a favor and put the right one in the first time. You can't go wrong with the ST3500, especially if you value racing from a roll. The top-end efficiency of the Yank Super Thruster is going to be quite a bit better than a comparable competitor.

Mitch - I thought you got that PT2900 or did that deal fall through. I think that the ST3500 is a good route. You have the PT2400 now and I would guess that you like the higher STR it has. The SY3500 is softer off the line. WallStAl has the ST3500 and he previously had the PT2400. Maybe give him a IM.

I went one step further and installed a ST3800.

No complaints and the converter is very streetable, in my opinion. Even the wife loves the converter and that says a lot. I think you'd love the ST3500 and anything less will disappoint you. The 3.42's will help tighten the converter a little which will make the converter that much more streetable.

It is very streetable. It took me one day to get used to it. My wife even said " That is what they means by loose converter. That is nothing!!"

Drivability will be fine. I recently drove a vig3600 and it felt great. This one is probably tighter. Get it.
