Default Fully built Tranny NIGHTMARE

I recently had my transmission fully re-built by "Mikes Transmission"

I wanted a very good builder, so I was told about Mikes Transmission in Lancaster Ca. From what I understand he has a vette on this tranny runin 9's and holds the record.

Here are my problems
1. My TC never un-locks( it was fun at first but now its geting on my nerves, and my pockets with gas prices)

Problem number 2.
In D or OD my tranny startes in 2 gear. I must put it in 1 and then throw it in D after I launch.

Problem number 3
I hit the revlimiter between 2nd and 3rd gear shift.

Is my tranny a POS??? I paid close to 3 grand before it was all over and done
2,000 for the rebuild, 400 to have my TC cleaned out and over hauled (3200vig), 200 for custom deep oil pan with tranny temp fitting, 300 install tranny.

Yes my tranny has been dyno tuned too.

Ouch several times , Sounds like you need to see your builder again , Or find someone else or just buy a unit , This is why I say many times it may be better to just purchase one online , When dealing with a local shop , Yes you get that up close and personal feel and Im sure there are many times that works great ,But on the flip side if you did get a tranny with that many issues from the start most online companies including ours would just send you another tranny rather than repeatedly having bring it in and leaving it over and over
Anyway I would attempt to diagnose the issues with your tranny but based on the description you have given that would most likley be a hands on deal ,

Dang, I only got jammed for 1200 on my local "built" 4L60E.
It was trash and so is the company that built it.

I caught alot of flak for going with the TH400 but everyday I read posts on the boards that reinforce my belief that I made the right decision.
I would go have serious words with your builder and if that does not work out .......TRY to find someone who can make the poor 60E live.
And then when your totally frustrated and can't take it anymore call Carl Rossler. He can make it all better.

I am no expert here but I will tell you my experience about your #3 problem.. Stock tranny just added the 4K stall.. It would ping the rev limiter from 2nd - 3rd.. Tuned it out! All good!

Added H/C blew tranny up before I could get to 3rd gear. Got new stage 4 tranny and pinged of rev limiter from 2nd -3rd again.. Tuned it out and good to go.

So, its done that to me twice (two different set ups) and was able to tune it out (A buddy has EFILive).

Problem #1? If it never "unlocks", then how are you stopping? If it didnt slip at all, wouldnt it die? Kind of like not pushing in the clutch in an M6 car? Or do you mean lock up and always slipping? That could be cause by misfires from what I have heard.

I was confused by the same thing. If it didn't ever unlock he wouldn't be able to stop without the car being killed. Not to mention how does it shift gears?

Are you getting any trans codes? It sounds like you have code related issues keeping your trans from locking up and performing the way it should.Vince

I think someone in our F-body club has a problem with a brand new Rossler slipping. 2nd tranny from them and slipped on the first pass.

This isnt a quote, I just thought they said something about it. Could be wrong, do not want to burn and bridges.
