Default How much more torque?

Can anyone give an approximate ft.lb. of torque for a very well built tranny with 3500 stall added to a basically stock ws6 w/ ls1? The only non-stock parts are lid, smooth bellow, and Loudmouth1 exhaust. I think stock is around 350 ft lb....

Are you asking how much more will a built transmission handle?

That is going to vary greatly by who built it and what parts went into it. With some of the better builders you can get a 4L60E to handle 600+hp.

I'm speaking of Performabuilt level 1 tranny which sounds to be an awesome one which will handle up to 500 hp. But what I'm asking is....does this tranny add any torque to the car just by installing it?

Of course....I am a noob sorta and a dummy.....the neck-snapping "launch" to me sounds like a lot more torque than stock. Or is it that the "launch" provided by the new tranny is just getting all the hp on the ground with a better means? Is this making any sense or am just that much of a dummy? lol!

The transmission itself won't launch any different. That is all up to the torque converter, which doesn't "add hp", just uses it differently.

Ok...now I understand......basically it just uses what you already have and applies it to the pavement more efficiently......that sounds right....

That would be correct,It changes the way and the when and how torque is transfered to the wheels
