Default SS4000 on the street?

anyone drivin any kind of 4000RPM stall on the street at all? i have a TCI 3000 right now and the lock up is going bad on it and i'm thinkin of going bigger stall and more than likely a yank, possibly vigilante, which ever yall think is better quality. and i was wondering how they drove on the street. if that is to extreme for a daily driven street car what about a 3800? i plan on getting a big cam something along the lines of a T-rex, and heads soon. but that wont be soon actually lol but i still want to daily drive the car so what do ya'll think?

I have a 4k yank. I love it. I ported the TB for better throttle response. I drive my car everyday. As for quality I couldn't tell you, but from what i heard yanks are really hard to break and prove that last year when my tranny take a **** when i was racing. The only thing that i was able to keep was the TC. So i have a lot of respect for this converter. Most big cams suggest getting 4k+ converter because the converter can hit the powerband of the cam.

im stepping up from a broken Yank ST3800 to a SS4000 tonight. youll find that the 4000 wont really drive much different on the street than the 3000.

I have used several converters like Yank TT3000/3.0, Midwest 3600/2.0 and Yank SS4000/2.60. The SS4000 is real easy to live with and daily drives well. With the higher STR, it is efficient and only weight ~29 lbs. During WOT, my rpm's will drop ~1000 and keeps on pulling and that works well with aftermarket cams. I currently have 18K miles on it and even drove the car halfway across the county with no issues.

Daily driving a Yank PT4000 here and not ever looking back. The first few times you drive it you will think it may be too large for street duty. Put a few miles on it and you won't even tell it's in there. Have fun!

I drive my ss4000 yank daily with 411 gears. I actually just had to drive it in the rain for 30 miles in traffic. Its fine, alot of fun and a blast at the track.Go 4000 and never look back.

just did mine last night and had a 100 mile trip and lots of traffic and it was flawless. i can tell it's just a tad bit looser than my old ST3800 but it hits the tires nice. the shift extension is there too.......
