Tranny Issue??!!
Tranny Issue??!! Alright fellas I have 170,000 miles on my stock 4L60e tranny with a Pro Torque 2800 stall converter. The converter now has about 20,000 miles on it and is a daily driver with my mods in the sig below. Under "normal" driving conditions around town...very little gas pedal...as the converter starts to lock up it shudders pretty hard. If I touch the gas pedal it locks up a little quicker. Under heavier acceleration it seems to do ok. Shifting seems fine as well. Do I need a tranny rebuild/replacement or is it the converter acting funny??!! How much is it to rebuild a tranny?? Should I replace or rebuild..funds are limited to an extent but I have some disposable money coming in a month I could throw at it. Any help or opinions are appreciated. Just need some guidance.
With those kinda miles I think you have done very well. It sounds like you are correct about it being tcc related. It could be multiple problems....tc,pump,valve body, check ball stuck in the seperator plate and so on. It sounds like it might be time to have it done or replace it with a new one. I was pretty pleased with the fact that I got that many miles out of it as well. I was already checkin out your site from ebay awhile back...then I saw your post here and realized it was the same company. You guys will be my first choice if I purchase a new tranny.
