Default Torque Converter Questions

I have been thinking about getting a torque converter for my car. But there is a fundamental problem. I do not know the specifics of the interaction with my other components and therefore don't know which one to buy. Everyone has their own opinion on brands and such, what I need to know is what would be appropriate for the setup I have and what I am trying to accomplish, which is, quite simply, to make my car respond and accelerate faster and increase overall speed. Can someone or all of you haha tell me what you think? Which converter should I buy? What stall is good? What brands are the best? What kind of performance increases am I in for? Thanks everyone.

A 3000 to 3500 range of converters would be great for you

I forgot to mention (and after reading more threads realize this is important) i plan on upgrading my cam in the next 2-3 months... Still have the same replies? Or does that change things? And on that note, any suggestions for the cam or even cam/converter combos that work well or are tried and true?

I have already decided to get a Yank Converter. Question is.... 3200 or 3600 stall because I am going to be getting a cam relatively soon.

Default Look at the Vigilante 3600

a very efficient converter. I'm running 12 teens with it, bolt-ons and a 3.23 gear no headers..

I like my Fuddle 3600 with a 2.5 STR. You have to give it more gas to get going, but it's totally manageable and my car is a daily driver. It hits really hard in the lower rpms and has eliminated the 40 mph deadspot. My car is very lightly modded. As far as the performance gain goes, it's hard to give a fair number. Before the stall it ran a best of 12.88 (8.37 1/8) with a 2.0 60ft on radials. With the stall and warmer weather and me having mercy on the 10 bolt on ET streets, I cut a 1.8 60ft and got a 12.73 (8.11 1/8) It feels alot faster, comparable weather and better driving will tell the truth on gains. Get at least a 3500, I wish i'd gone bigger sometimes.

My car is a 05 GTO with the LS2 motor and 4L65E transmission.

Not many mods just predator tuner; K&N CAI; & Nitto DR's.

Best time to date is 12.8 @ 108 into a 15 mph headwind.
