the question is how much does your car weigh. 2800 to 3000 lbs a glide is recomended because you dont need the first gear ratio. since you have a turbo you should seriously consider this, because the turbo requires you to spool up before you really start using it. so if your car is a light car i would say go with the glide at work we have a dragster runs 6.50s runs all year (200 ish passes, glide still runs like a champ and i would def recomend a dedenbear case like 99f1 said). but if you are a heavy car you need the extra gear to let the engine climb quicker so your boost comes in quicker.

Bob, now I see its rated for 2k hp, but I dont get why under the pic it says
"The Proline 2500 adds the unbreakable 1.80 straight cut gears into a stock PG output and carrier, plus a deep aluminum pan to the PL 2000. This increases the rating to 1150 HP. "

Is it a typo or am I just mis-reading it?

A well built 1.76 glide can handle good power. I'm always told 800-900hp. Shaking the tires is the easiest way to break the stock gearset. If you have more power or just want piece of mind, look at Rossler's build sheet for a Terminator 3 powerglide. It adds the aftermarket gearset and everything else needed for WELL OVER 1000hp.

I did a Fuddle converter and it's working great on motor as of now, needs to be tightened for nitrous. Converter selection is more critical when you don't have a steep first gear like a th400 has. Trial and error for me with this one. I think 1000+hp in a 3500lb car will be fine. Even if a 400 was a tenth quicker out of the hole, it will be wilder ride, some say inconsistant, etc especially on a "small" tire. Are you looking to set records?

i just which from a TH350 to a glide, use a TH350 imput shaft so i could use the same verter, (i'm cheap) oh and the car weighs 2580lbs, it takes alwhile to get used to the long 1st gear, don't have to shift until about 1/2 to 3/4th down the track. (1/8th mile) but i am liking ti so far.
