Default Trans removel HELP

Hey guys im trying to remove my trans and have a couple questions.

1 what am i getting my self into?
2 How many bolts hold the trans to the motor?


i see the bottom 6 but are there two on the top and if so how do i get them!
any in put would be great thanks

Once you unbolt the tranny crossmember, you can drop the rear of the tranny down quite a bit to get to the top bolts. Just use three or four long extensions with a universal joint and you can get them no problem. It isn't difficult at all if you're worried about taking on too big of a job. The only issue I had was getting the tranny to break free of the alignmnet tabs. Just keep working at it and it will come off. Don't forget to disconnect the wire connections and the tranny cooler lines.

never done this before on a f body, where do the tranny cooler lines attach? and what about the shifter linkage just unbolt it you dont have to remove the center consel?

cooler lines are on the side of the trans and you just have to unbolt the linkage from the trans and leave the center consol alone

once you drop it half way do the collant lines, will be easier to get to them and have a few drip pans close by.. just like talked about above the extensions from behind the tranny will make you money..

one more thing guys just removed the cross mem and the trans didnt really hang down any what im trying to say is every thing is out and i still cant see the top bolts. Any more
advice out there. thanks
