The only suggestion I can make is keep the shifts down to factory and make your fluid changes regularly. It is hard for anybody to tell when something is going to go or we would all be RICH. Go for it and you will find out.
I do remember a thread about the 4l60e and how much it wil take. It had some real good info on it about RPM's and HP/TQ

Do what im doing....buy the cam,and save for the tranny.My car is a DD and there is no way im putting my cam in before i get a built tranny.It sure is hard looking at all those parts sitting in my garage though...Buying the Tranny in 2 weeks though
