Default Good torque converters??

I'm looking at buying a torque converter, but can't decide which one will suit me the best. I've heard that vigilante makes one of the best, what do you guys think. Also, what stall would you suggest, 3500?? I don't really go to the track that often. As many ppl do, I'm trying to get max. power with reliability and driveability.

My friend's Vig3200 9.5" is perfect for a DD that doesn't hit the track often.. I think if you hit the tracka lot a 3600 would be good for you, I had a TCI 3400 9.5" (didn't hold up more than a week!) the Stall was perfect for me, really got my truck moving, it was like an animal, I have a 2800 10.5" Vig in my truck now, too tight, going with a 3400Vig, shoudl be perfect (9.5" multidisc 3 plate 2.53str) good luck, I went with the Vig for the rep of being the most durable around..

I would recommend a PI 2800 stall if you primarly drive it on the street. But if you really think your going to spend a good amount of time drag racing it I would recommend the 3200 stall. The Precision 3600 stall is too loose of a converter for street driving.

Yank here and lovin it.....3500 is no problem for the street. It's looser than stock obviously, but you get used to it real quick. I am considering going to a 4000 and I see the track a couple times a year. It is fun driving with a stall at any speed and anywhere. Yank and Vig seem to be the best converters out there......that's the general opinion on this site. I know some of the high horse tranny builders on this site really recommend the Vigs. Either of those two and you can't go wrong.
