I think I screwed up! HELP!

I have a stripped bolt that I have no friggin clue how to get out. It's the top bellhousing bolt on the driver side. The head of the bolt is almost but not completely rounded. Advice desperately needed.

Take a 14mm swivel and a 3 ft extension and hammer it on. the 14 is a **** hair smaller than the 9/16. That should get you. Thanks Chris

that will work use a cheap 6 point socket

Wow, thanks for the quick replies.

The bolts are all 13mm. am I missing something?

ah you are talking about the nuts that hold the brackets in , us a 1/2 inch socket to remove those ,Then use a deep set 14 to remove the bolts

First off if you have bolts that are rounding off, you would not want to use a cheap socket. This will only cause the bolt to get into a worse condition. Get a good or new 6 point socket perferrably a swivel socket. You can take and use a 1/2 instead of a 13mm 6 point socket. This will be a hair tighter. Good luck and take your time. If you have to pound on a socket, a 12mm is the next way to go. I'm not sure what these guy's are talking about with brackets,nuts,and 14mm bolts with studs.

If the smaller socket does not work... tear a small piece of paper a lilltle larger than the size of the correct socket. Place it in the socket using a fingertip. The idea is to make the socket fit tighter by shimming it.

I also use engine valve lapping compound inside sockets sometimes, it acts as an abrasive that causes the bolt to bite the socket.
