Default tranny pissin me off

i can put my car into P,R,N,D but when i put my car into drive it goes into 3rd and wont come out. i have tried putting it into first and shifting it manually but that didnt work. it starts off in 3rd and then wont go into OD. please help!! in a bind and need some guidence. Thanks

Sounds like your computer is putting your trans into limp mode. Are you getting any codes or ses lights?

yeah it does throw a code out but i havent had a chance to see what it is. if there is a code what could be the problem. thanks

shorted or faulty solenoids but untill you get the codes thats about the best we can tell you
