sounds like its slipping to me. I'll bet thats what it is. Check the tranny fluids and go get some Lucas Transmission Fix. May help it out, it stopped my car from slipping from 2nd to third last year.

my car was slipping, it was only between the two gears, other than the overrevving before shift, it acted perfect. i would take it to a transmission shop and get it checked out.

Well how does the 3-4 shift feel , if it feels good and since 2nd and 4th ae the band it may be a broken accumulator spring now if it feels mush bad to 4th also then its likley the band ,

Depends on the shop , I would ask them specifically to check the 1-2 accum spring and ask them what that cost , Many shops will try and talk you into a rebuild need it or not so just be very specific what you want checked , they really shouldnt charge you much more than the cost of a fluild and filter change since its only three more bolts and of course the price of the spring and or piston added to that

I would suspect the 1-2 accumulator spring/s as well. If it has a non OEM shift kit in it these springs may not be readily available unless the correct shift kit is purchased.

If someone brought me a car that was symptomatic I would tell them that I need to diagnose that car regardless of anyone elses advice. I don't care if it is the factory design engineer, there are too many conditions that can cause symptoms. However, I would take their advice under consideration. I recommend you find a reputable shop that specializes in 4L60E's, not necessary but will help your cause. We do not charge to diagnose anyone's car for any problem. Unless it is a PITA long drawn out situation. Most issues can be easily identified within an hour or maybe two.

my car is doing the same .if you punch it it drops down to 2 and revs up so fast it bumps the rev ans it feels like it slips .so i man put it in first give it quick hits on the throttle car jumps nice put it in second going a bit faster to get rpms up and do the same quick hits on the throttle and it slips then catches after a second almost feels like your spinning.this is the only gears doing it..please let me know what you come up with..
