I've done it a bunch with stock transmissions. They don't like it for long though.

The warranty is one year to address that question,

And on MARC 85Z28 comment about the mods deleting his post yes they would and should ,
We the sponsors here and I know performabuilt are here to answer and help people even when they don't buy from us ,Without us there would be no forum here for you to use to get all the great information and help you do. Any way you try and circumvent is tantamount to a slap in our face, And any business dealing with performance parts for the ls1 who is to cheap or cant afford to be sponsors here I wouldn't put much faith in anyway ,I would be worried they would be as cheap on there products quality

I beg to differ and can prove this wrong.

Quality performance shops don't need to sponsor websites, as their product speaks for and sells itself. And I recommended a PM - no links in my post.

I see shops sponsoring to get their name out if they are new or looking to expand. Not a bad thing it's just advertising. Now does it mean if your not on ls1 tech you suck? Not so much!

No i do not mean if your not and LS1 TECH SPONSOR your products suck , What I do mean is if you come on this forum and after a short period of time haven't become a sponsor realizing that at first people like to test the ground ,But if they or and agent of theres continually uses the forum to try and make there name known then its only right they become a paying sponsor and in reality for the exposure you get for the price its and excellent deal. But continually doing that without becoming a sponsor is wrong because its not fair to the paying sponsors and I would fail to understand why one would not do it unless they just couldn't afford it which would concern me,
Becoming a sponsor on ls1 tech is and excellent investment. And the sponsors here go to great efforts to serve you and in our case and others even when you haven't bought anything from us, If you call me or anyone at PerformaBuilt and have a problem with another sponsors product or even non sponsors we will and do help and I have literally spent hours on the phone helping people with other vendors products solve problems.
Becoming a sponsor is yes advertisement, but Its something more to it shows a genuine interest in this forum and the people who participate in it,

I wasn't putting anyone down just was commenting that the admins should remove non sponsor links other wise there would be no reason for anyone to become a sponsor and since its I'm sure not exactly free to maintain this site, I know ours isn't and is not near so complicated a this one without sponsors it would probably be like some other forums I have spent time in that do not have sponsored ads and be poorly organized and kept up.
This forum and only a couple others I have run into is a pleasure to post in because of its organization and the way its moderators keep things in there proper places.

If I was miss understood I do apologize it wasn't my intention to put anyone down. And on MARCS post I meant just as he said they should remove his post if he posted a non sponsor link or if he or anyone is continually asking people to private them for information about a non sponsor and i don't mean the occassional hey check these guys out type post but the ones who do it constantly which I did not intend to say he did this because I do not know I have never really searched through his post to see , But I have seen those who do just that and those people should be addressed by the moderators

Back to the original topic.

We run a 4L60E and have pounded on ours on a very regular basis. I am not willing to give up the overdrive and don't feel I have given up any durability. The car is quicker and made more HP than we ever expected. The 4L60E is holding the shifts solid as it did from day one. We have over 180 passes on it (most are mid-low 10 second passes) and we are probably due to have it refreshed, but so far so good.

Get a properly built 4L60E/4L80E and you'll be fine. They have their limits, but I obviously haven't exceeded that yet.

Just changing bands and clutches won't cut it.

I am still running a 4l60e in a 3700lb car over a year ago i built the trans in that year I broke a pump rotor due to my vacuum line from my modulator coming off and causing high line pressure at low rpms, After 10,000 street and strip miles well over 200 passes 90% of them 6.40's 1/8 mile and mid 1.30 60ft or less it broke a out put shaft when the trans was torn down ONLY the out put shaft got replaced the clutch packs where in perfect condition. A 4l60e can be built to run mid 9's all day long, We dont drive the car much now due to the wife being pregnant but just 2 months ago I drove it 100 miles to the track ran a 6.09@118 1/8 mile Tunned the car up for the next pass and put it on the bumper

Thanks, ChevPower for coming on the board, and letting people know about this. He used the Pro Street Performance Upgrade kit, for his 4L60E buildup.
