Default Tranny decesion

I just got a yank ss3600 used from a guy, and he said it had about 2000 miles on it. Well i want to get a new tranny, and cooler, and all the goodies at the same time, but i don't want to get all that new stuff, and have the converter ruin the new tranny, so do i put the converter in with the stock tranny, and buy a cooler , and a deep pan, and see if the stocker holds up for the summerand wait till next year to get the built tranny. Plus budget is tight but i am willing spend the money to do it right though just means i won't have what i want for awhile . Really i don't want to have to send the converter and have it cut open, and freshened up as that was not in the budeget. I just don't know what to do at all

Well if the trans it was from did not fail and the fluid looks good and the previous owner says he has no problems I would just install it .The real risk in that case is if your stock trans has issues and trashes the converter 2000 miles and working good would be considered tried a true in my book for the converter

Can i screw up the converter if my stock tranny takes a crap with the ss3600 in it., and in that case would the converter have to be gone through by yank to fix, am i correct.

Thats correct , your trans could kill the converter if it dies thats the real risk particularly if your stock trans is a high milage unit or not working really well now
