correct,, or you can use the hughes spacer,,,, remember that depending on the converter when doing the flexplate then spacer option sometimes there is a clearance issue and the spacer sometimes needs to be milled down about an 1/8"

the hughes spaceer seems to be a simpler answer when using the curved flexplates

yes that looks to be a curved plate and the hughes spacer will work fine

Just want to clearify what i have and what i need, I have an 04 6.0 with a flat flywheel. Right now it is set up to match a stock th350(previous owner had this set up) I wanna run a bigger stall on a 4l60E. All i should have to do is remove the spacer and bolt up the TC and trans right?

it all depends what year/style 4L60e,, if your using the non-lsx 4L60e then you would leave the setup just as it is

if you are using a lsx style 4L60e then you would need to remove the flexplate and spacer and install a curved lsx flexplate

Question...I have a LS1 flexplate....There are three holes that line up perfectly with my 95 torque converter. The other holes are slightly off. Can i just use the ones that line up?

Would this work? http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...109/prd109.htm

Also, does anyone know if the torque converter for a 200-4r would fit on a 4l60e? I'd rather not buy a new tc if I don't have to.

Old thread I know! But In process of swapping th400 in 98. I have the gm spacer/ flat flywheel, With a UCC converter. Elongated the bolts to fit, but when I put the trans up to mount it mounting tabs for the converter where hitting the flywheel when it was barely on the dowels. I still have the flat, but now also have the sfi curved flexplate. How can you tell if its and ls style or 400 style converter? The bolts had to be elongated on the curved flexplate also.

Im going from a t56 to a th400 with my 00 ls1. So I can get the lq4/4l80 flex plate to work with a TH400 stall with out modding the flex plate? Do I need to still run the spacer? Just want to make sure since you say it has the correct spacing and will bolt up. Thanks!

Some year 6 liters have a spacer between the crank and the flex plate, if someone is doing a th350 swap and purchase's the hughes SFI flex plate that is curved do you still utilize the factory spacer between the crank and flex plate or do you remove the factory spacer and install the flex plate to the crank then the hub adapter into the back of the crankshaft after the flex plate for the nose of the converter to sit in?

What way does the curved flex plate face?

I want to keep my V6 Transmission as it has already had some work done to it. I have a 5.3 bellhousing that I can use that came off of a buddies 5.3 4L60E.

Will these bolt up without any kind of spacer/flexplate/input shaft/TC changes? I have come across so many different answers its almost silly...
This is my same setup curved flexplate with adapter when i bolt up tourqe converter it comes forward so much that it isnt engaged in the pump, that is with the 5.3 bellhousing wich is almost half inch longer than 4.3 i also hhad 5.7 converter

So i am gonna put v6 bellhousing back on and get a 4.3 converter hopefully that works for me .if anyone finds this please add your .02$

I've been searching and come up with different answers on this.....

I have a 03 LQ4 with the dished style flexplate, and I recently got a 4L60e trans. The transmission/convertor come out of a 98-99 S-10 with a 4.3L V-6. Its going in my 2nd gen Firebird.... Will it work? From what I have read, I will need the spacer and bolts... is this correct?

Here are a couple pics, I got this transmission from a guy I know dirt cheap, he wrecked the truck. It has 70,000 miles on it. It has the removable bellhousing and the 6 bolt tail shaft.

Thanks in advance,
Eric
