looking at getting an aluminum pan for my th400.
i dont want to scrap it when i start doing (small) wheelstands.
i have 4" exhaust, so as long as it is even with that it wont be so bad for me.
what pans do you guys use, should i get a deep one, and will it help cool better?
i will have two tranny coolers, one b&m 29000 gvw with a fan infront of the passenger weel laying flat, and a rail one about 14000 gvw below the radiator
ill have a spragless conveter

We have the cast aluminum B&M deep pan. It sits just a tad lower then the engine oil pan, I'd say about 1" or 2" (max.). It adds more capacity, which helps maintain the fluid temp cooler. A large fluid capacity is takes longer to heat up (and cool down) then a smaller fluid capacity, this translates to more consistent results for large fluid capacities and more inconsistent results with less fluid capacity.
I will see if I can get a picture of our setup tonight for you, any special photographic requests?
