Well, I've had 3 lines blow and a Ruptured Radiator to show for it.
Since then, I've Bypassed the Radiator completely with the Tranny lines
and have had NO Cooling Issues nor overpressured Lines to deal with.
That's why I went with the Steel Braided Lines and AN Fittings.

I use rubber hose rated for Trans and Oil lines. Constant tension clamps work the best.

Got my Goodyear hose last night as well as fuel injection style clamps. There were a lot of good options posted here, but this was the easiest choice for me. I also got a 2nd cooler...a Hayden that measures 3/4" X 10" X 16". Will be going in front of the radiator and piggy-backing the B&M 24K. Should be putting on today if the shop opens after the monstrous storm we got (1/4" snow ).

I think I got the wrong hose for my B&M 24k.lol
I got the fuel injection clamp's, and the goodyear hose. But it's a fuel injection hose, will that work? It's got a blue interior.
The autozone here doesn't know what they're doing, my buddy that works there just said to go the back to check out what they have, can't complain only paid 2 buck's.

The goodyear fuel injection hose is more flexible than the one that came with the B&M kit, and has a blue interior coat in the hose. Kinda second thinking that it won't holdup to the heat of the trans oil, not sure.
What do you guys think, is the goodyear hose you guys using specfically for transmission oil/cooler????

Thanks

According to my gauge, my tranny hasn't seen above 180* since I installed it.....I didn't think it was possible to smoke one of your tranny's anyway!! It's still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.

I've always used rubber trans cooler line, Gates or Goodyear. If you do go to Autozone or anywhere make sure they give you the right stuff. I recently ran a set and they tried selling me fuel line.
Last I heard it has to say Transmission Cooler line on it to be able to run at the track.
The Autozone stuff usually has a number, make sure it rings up as trans line when you go to the cashier. I also use worm type hose clamps that just fit, too big and they will leak.
I've connected hose straight to cut off hard line, compression fitting to hose barb, etc, usually with no leaks or weaping.

Zombie thread, sweet. How are you guys tranny staying so cool with just those 14k BTU coolers and such? I had a pair of 28ks and the thing wouldn't stay below 240*. I've since removed A/C and converted the condenser to a trans cooler and it hovers around 160* once warmed up, maybe 180 after multiple WOT runs. Oh btw, to keep it relevant I use the goodyear 5/16 with those little hose clamps and it works fine, no leaks.

I''m going the push loc route on mine,no radiator cooler just the biggest B&M stacked
plate jobbie they make 29,200 gvw 11"x11"x1-1/2". The real push loc hose is lighter
than the rubber hose also.

Default trans fittings

What fittings are everyone using out of the trans on a 4l80e?You have to use the rear fitting that extends to the inside so do you use the factory quick connect lines or is there an after market fitting that will work to hook an type fittings to eliminate the quick clips? If so where do you get them?
