No, but I used a dual gauge pillar pod. My other gauge is a water temp gauge which uses the same kind of sending unit. I used the same T-fitting....and accomplished the throttlebody bypass with it. Killed two birds with one stone. I'll try to get some pics up later.

I agree, temp leaving the trans, not return line.

Yes...you can get some nice digital gauges from Summit that are ~$65. I think I might swap out for those. Anyone need some autometer temp gauges?!

Yes...when it's cold out, my gauge won't register for quite a while and only if I get on it and warm it up some.

as far as the power how did you hook it up? did you just tap into the fuse panel or into the ignition?

I tapped into the main power wire under the dash. I think it's red or pink. I tapped into the parking light wire for the gauge lights.

What would you think of having two electric senders and using a toggle switch so you can see the exiting temp as well as the return temp? The same gauge could be used to display either temp. Overkill, but you can still see if the cooler is doing its job.

My thoughts are it should be read from the pan, like the pcm reads it from the bottom of the valve body, that way you know if the cooler is doing its job, reading it as it leaves the tranny on the way to the cooler is going to be reading some pretty hot oil especially with a hi stall, the converter is a sepperate compartment with temps getting much much hotter than the trans temps.

does anyone actually read temps on the way to the cooler? Ill bet its bloody hot at times.

its the converter that heats the fluid not the tranny.

That's what I'm going to do after I add a bigger cooler and move my sensor from my pressure port. One before the cooler and one after the cooler with a switch to alternate between the two for the gauge.

When we were tuning my car, the tranny temps on EFILive were significantly cooler than my gauge which measures going to the cooler from the converter. Like i stated earlier, I want to know my max temps. With 2 coolers, I have yet to see over 180* after a long burnout and 1000' pass.

I had mine in the driver side port. But, while talking to Chuck over at FLT today (he is rebuilding my Rock-On tranny) He is going to weld in a bung for my sending unit to mount in while he has the tranny..

ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN JUST GET THE SENDING UNIT?? MINE FELL APART WHEN TAKING IT OUT TO SHIP TO FLT!! Thanks
