Default Trans cooler Question

Cooler mounting question? Where is everyone mounting their trans coolers who are using FTRA, Whisper, or other RAM-Air units that go where the trans cooler is supposed to be mounted? '98-'02 F-bods, please. Also, will a finned, alum. deep trans. pan, TCI, or B&M, do the same thing a trans cooler does? Thanks. Any opinions, or help apprecaited. I do like the perf. gain from the FTRA, so I don't want to remove it. WJ.

This is how myself and many other people with the FTRA mount their coolers.

A deeper pan may help some but nothing near what a cooler should do. Besides the B&M pan is around $165-185 and a 24k B&M Supercooler is about $45.

You can get a deeper stock oil pan WITH a drain plug and a deep filter for about $80 if you want to do both. I can find the part #s if you want them.

By the way, my car is lowered with a Prokit. You definitely don't want to be pulling over curbs or parking blocks and make sure your connections are tight but I've had no problems yet.

I may try to make mine a little sturdier ONE day but a number of parking blocks and countless possums haven't damaged it or pulled it loose yet.

Thanks Weasel. Is that a B&M cooler on your car, or something else? Get back. WJ.

That's not my car but a guy that goes by "DOPE", hence you might see THAT mounting technique mentioned as "Dope Style" .

...and yes mine is the B&M tranny cooler 24,000. It is the same W" x L" as the lower rated ones but twice as thick. It's still only 3" thick I believe. Just more surface area for cooling is my thought.
