Default 93 Z28 Trans question

I might be getting a 93 Z28 as a trade, but it has a bad trans. Is this a 700R4 or a 4L60E? If a 4L60E, can I use any of them or are LS1 transmissions different?

No a 700r4 is not a 4l60e its a 4l60 the non electronic version , Yours is also a unique yea in that it uses a different electrical plug than the other years But it is still a 700r4.

Then is 1993 the only year for the 4l60? Or what 700r4s can I swap in if it has a different plug?

That is correct they are the same 4l60 is just the proper name for the 700r4 , But 93 is the only year that uses that particular plug , We can supply the trans with that plug at no additional charge ,

Alright, I'm not really sure if I want to put up that much money for a trans for a completely stock car. Especially since I'm not sure if I want to keep it yet. Is there any way that I can swap the 93 plug from the 93 trans to say an older 700r4? And what exactly is this plug for?
