Well in that case you would need to change the input drum to the ls1 type and possibly make some updates in the clutch pack,You would need to change the pump or pump stator , as far as cost parts and labor provided you can find someone willing to do it 400 to 700 dollars would be my best estimate, Unless you can find and ls1 core to rob the parts off of and do it your self. Plus you will need and ls1 type converter add couple hundred for a stocker reman
Honestly though I think in the long run and im not saying this just to try and sell a unit you would cone out better just to buy a lower level built unit and sell the 6cyl unit to offset the cost , You would come out with a much better setup with only a minimal additional investment

you still have to consider the converter/crank pilot thats what actually keeps everything in the center,I mean Im sure with enough effort and some expense it can be done any swap is possible and though in stock form the 6cyl trans is weaker it would live for a bit.Im just trying to figure out why so much effort to make that swap?

6000 mile unit from a 6cyl? So. Stock v8 trannies sometimes don't hold up... Take performabuilt's advice, and get one made for the car. You can pickup a low milage used 4l60e on here for like 4-500$
