shift handle removal

Anybody know how to get the auto stifter handle off?

Somewhere around the bottom of the **** there is a metal piece much like a staple, pull that out and the **** will come right off.

Yeah, on the front of the shifter facing the dash there is a metal staple looking thing that holds the shifter on...Take a small flat head screw driver and gently pry it out towards the dash. This is much easier to do with the shifter pulled back into gear position "1" or "2"...To reinstall just line up the shifter and the slot and push the metal piece back in...
