im in the market rite now for a convertor and from the looks of all this im gonna stick with my original two choises the vig 3200 or the yank st3500. from the looks of the tci it looks like complete junk and looks like a stock s-10 convertor with a few spot welds and fresh paint job. im not trying to put any company down but the pictures speak for them selfs now i see why at my dealership we only install the vig and yank as aftermarket verters

I've ordered the TCI 242931 from a distributor in Australia. Do I cancel the order or should I keep it going. I'm led to believe the delay time is 2-4 weeks before they ship, plus 10 days freight time by the time I see it.
I have spoken to R8LS1 and he also says he was missing a bush in the crank where the snout of the converter fits into. Do they have a bush in the flexplate as standard? My stock converter fits nice and snug.
I'd like a SY3500, but that's too tall for the gearing I'm running (3.07) so have thought I'd give the 931 a go....
I'm a long way from TCI to have trans problems due to a converter problem. I'm on my 2nd trans rebuild now and dont really need a 3rd.
Help!

Jason , there is no bush in any of them , mine fits like standard as I just found out , was OK from the start , crank pilot is 1.700" .
The movement is because the crank end on the lock up verters are machined so only a thin ring is 1.700" unlike the older stuff that are a tight fit all the way , so they dont move at all in the hole . Thats why I thought it moved a bit too much but was the same diam as the stock converter so I put it in anyway . So that was never a problem , thats how they are .
Tranny was in and out today , crank hole is 1.700" . Std Converter is 1.700" , so is the TCI , no problems there .

a yank3000 or vig2800 would be the way to go if you are after only 3000-3200 stall . Do it right from the start , half done always ends up costing more <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> The TCI is junk .

It will feel tighter and get you off the line better, assuming you have grip. If he would build you a TT3000 3.0 that would feel tight and get you out of the hole strong, but grippy tires will probably be required.

Are you sure you've got enough for them?
