The 4400 is not really much looser than the 4000. I could not tell any difference between my 4200 and 4000. However both will be noticably looser than your vig 3200.

Shift extension is the difference between input shaft (i.e. engine rpm) and the output shaft (tranny input rpm). When you shift to 2nd at 6000 rpm, your tranny input actually drops to around 3300, but with your high stall allows the engine to hold 5200 rpm. The 5200 is refered to as your shift extension. It allows the engine to stay higher in the rpm band and make more power and provides some torque multiplication until the output shaft starts to really catch up to the input shaft.

Where are you shifting at to get it to hold 5500rpm? My ST3500 only holds to around 4500 shifting at 6K

I am shifting a 6600 rpms to get 5500 rpm shift extension, but it would still drop back to 5500 even if I shifted at 6200...that's what's so great about this converter. The shift extension makes it killer from a roll.

off topic, but how do you get a 111 LSA cam to idle in an automatic?

It's easy to get a 111LSA cam to idle with custom tuning. Mine was done by Thunder Racing. I have 2 pcms. One has the idle at 750 rpms and low eninge timing (my nitrous pcm) and one has idle set at 900 and more engine timing (my daily driving pcm). Idle is nice, even at 750 rpms, but my alternator charges better at 900.
