TCI converters and transmissions are JUNK. I suggest taking it out and using it as a wheel stop.

as reliable as their products are proving to be as of late, I think making a wheel stop from anything they sell is kind of risky.

One would be better off using it as a fishing weight. Even if it breaks the line, it sure won't be the first thing it's broken...

I.E. ~ a TCI converter causing a tranny to fail - and break.

TCI

i've have had my tci ssf3500 for about 3 years now and have had no problems at all, very smooth, and has my car runing 11.6's stock internals.

A blind squirrel will find a nut every once in a while. Its hit or miss with them. They've been like that since day one, not just recently.

Is that kind of like a broken clock is right twice a day?

There was a time here (2003-2005 maybe) that TCI was praised as one of if not THE best bang for the buck converter. The Colonel was always bragging about them. All the posts and threads I read in those days were usually praising the product and or the great customer service. Like any company they had a few bad apples but that's where the customer service came into the spot light and always fixed or replaced the problem.

So there was a time that TCI was much more hit then miss. Sadly that is not the case anymore so I myself have to recommend Yank to anyone who asks me what converter brand they should get.

2 years ago I had a SSF 3500 do the same, (chattering and vibrations), I swaped it for a VIG 3200 and no problem since.
You pay for what you get IMO. VIG is the most trouble free converter I've ever owned.
I'm getting a VIG 3800 this week to replace the 3200, as it seems to be getting tired.
