I use a TCI SFI Certified on my Nitrous car. Takes a 400 shot on a forged 347. Handles it nicely.

A flexplate is like a flywheel for an auto right?

I think the best out there is the Meziere flexplate http://www.meziere.com/index.php?pgName=flexplates. It is made of billet steel and is a true one piece plate, no welds. I also use the TCI which is pretty stout.

How would they compare to stock? Im doing a tranny and tc install from performabuilt and yank and was wondering if it would be smart to change the flexplate as well to a lighter weight one?

Aftermarket plate won't be lighter, it will be stronger. Stock is already light, but I have seen a couple crack...

I kinda want to change it out just for peace of mind. Should I go OEM or the place stated above?

Flex plates don't just break, unless there is a problem.

Depends on your power and if you want one SFI cert. Nothing wrong with piece of mind but the Mezeire one is costy, might want to consider the TCI of your gonna change it...it's about half the cost.

We run the Mezeire. Safety is never too expensive IMHO. I prefer having a one piece billet flexplate, rather then a welded ring on a plate. Nothing wrong with that, but for our purpose, it is much better option.

Definately agree! Just saying the TCI plate on his 12 sec car is more than enough and much, much stronger than stock. Now, if you want the best, mezeire is it, I believe it's $370 -$400 area if I remember my quote.

Oh yes, anything is better then stock, that's for sure. I was just refering to an all out HP unit. For daily drivers, TCI (amongst others) is fine ... but if you are after "BIG power" ...

hey hey dont assume, this year i hope to be an 11 sec car lol. The reason i bring this to concern is when i was prying the tranny off it seemed to press against the flex plate a little and i didnt want it to be bent or anything. Its not like i was not being careful but just gently prying the tranny away. I know im pry being paranoid but maybe ill just get another factory one for piece of mind.

If you buy a new OEM Plate this is what it looks like. One solid Piece. It's supposed to be as strong as the TCI.

$99
