Default Shifting Question

If you have a LS1 z28 A4 does going from drive to neutral and then back to drive again going at about 30 or even highway rolls hurt the tranny? The reason I ask is I know a guy that has been doing it to rev at people on the freeway to get races and I keep thinking he's going to blow his tranny. What do you guy's think?

well he is just engaging and disengaging he forward clutch so as long as hes in coast and not under throttle during the engagment other than some long term wear on the forward clutch I wouldnt see any issue and that would be minimal , Not if he comes back in under throttle thats a whole different story

He is not coming in under throttle, just doing it to rev wile rolling. I also wanted to know this for my car because the one thing I miss about my m5 in my SHO is pushing in the clutch and revving here up. Also one other question, Is neutral slamming an auto the same as dropping the clutch in a stick? I have people tell me this all the time but I don’t agree.
