I tried doing a search on shift extensions between the two. I have found that the SS3600 is around 4800 at stock shift points but have found nothing on the Vig3200, does anyone know? I know Yank's SS have a high extension but how much higher than a similar Vig?
Well my Yank's still new sitting in the box LOL... but from the other truck I rode in and drove with similar mods as mine and the SS3600. it performed very similar with the exception being the Yank's a little tighter and the PI wanted to flash quicker... driveability is very much similar.... I needed something a shade tighter but with more stall overall because of my cam.... (plus something that acted better on nitrous) so I went with the SS3600 Vs the Vig 3200.... it was a nice converter though while I ran it. the only other Yank converters I've driven is a TT3000, SS4000, and a PT4400.... it all depends on what you are wanting as to which one I'd get... nobody in the world can tell me Yank's quality is second place to PI's after owning both.

Vig 3600 here...DD and I can't tell you how many track passes since its install in 1996!!! Its been flawless with 60's in the 1.55 range..Had it freshened 3 years ago only because I had the trans rebuilt and wanted to make sure it was ok...The techs at Vig said that the converter looked fantastic with only minor wear on the lock up clutch...I love this thing...

tmoneyr007 why did you switch converter? SS3600 to a Vig 3200? Seems like most people who chimed in on this thread went up. Just curious.

TCC issue, it's on it's way to Yank now to be diagnosed. I thought the SS3600 was a LITTLE loose for me, I have an 05 GTO DD and I bought the Vig 3200 after a local tranny shop recommended a Vig, after the Yank's lockup was giving me problems, it's a little tighter, hits a little quicker (to me it seemed like the Yank would flash and then BANG it'd hit, the Vig seems like it's instantaneous). (in the same timespan) With the Yank I'd be waiting for it to flash and with the Vig I'm trying to compensate for wheelspin.

I'm a Stall rookie, so no bashing needed on my comments, those are just MY experiences.

Well once I get one installed I'll be right where you are. How long did you do the research before you purchased? You have any 60ft times between the two converters?

My converter is different than most on here, but I have experience with Vig and I like it. My converter really doesn't have a rating because I'm boosted so that changes everything, but it's a great driving converter. I have a th400 (no lockup) and 2.75 gears in a full weight car and it will creep on it's own from a 700 rpm idle. N/A the converter will stall to exactly 3000 rpms on the transbrake. I'm able to cruise around town in 3rd at 50mph and be at 2000 rpms.

I don't think you can go wrong by going with either brand, the restall option is nice with vig but they seem to hit the target pretty good on the n/a cars the first time.

VIG also has a 2 year warranty and no one else can match that.
I've had a vig 3200 for the past 3 years with no issues and countless nitrous passes.
It is getting a bit tired now so i'm getting another VIG but this time 3800
