...only when it's in gear? I should know this but please refresh my memory. I never seem to have my Autotap present and hooked up when I'm behind an interstate foul-up. The AC works so much better at the higher,idle RPMs, but I don't want to FUBAR the tranny 'cause of the Florida heat.

If the engine is running it is turning front pump in trans & if pump turns fluid is flowing no matter what gear or in park. the faster the motor turns more fluid flow .
