Default Adding Clutches

My builder wants me to buy another 3-4 clutch and some thinner steels than what came with my kit. He said it would be better to have 9 clutches instead of 8. I'm not sure exactly what kind of clutches they are but they are beige color altos that are a hair thinner than stock. Am I gaining anything with one extra clutch?

If you are going to use a 9 clutch setup, go with the 4L65E Borg Warner Hi-Energy 3-4 clutches. These clutches are much better than the Alto's and the material is of a much better design, this adds capacity & durability and it will handle much more heat than the thin Alto's.

Well I'm just going to go with what i have. I cant really see there being that much of a difference between the clutches. 10% probably wont be noticeable. Plus arent these clutches what you put in your lvl1 tranny Performabuilt?

You can get the 9 clutch Borg Warner Hi-Energy setup for less than eighty dollars.
