Will this trans work?
Will this trans work? Will a 4l60 out of a 95 camaro work in a 93 Trans Am? If it doesn't bolt right up what is different? All of my experience is with LSX cars. Not sure of Electronics Plug ins etc. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks Guys
No a 95 is a 4L60E A 93 is a 700R4 (4L60) Non electronic version

well 93 back to 83 can be retroed with some minor wiring changes for lockup . Basically your looking for a 700r4 82-93 though I wouldnt go back past 86 . The earlier ones kinda sucked assuming your looking for a used one

Thanks for the help. What is your advice on a seperate issue. My 99 Z28 is a cam only car that makes 395rwhp. I have a 3000 stall for it. I've been told that I should worry about my stock tranny, cause it shifts at high rpm, My tuner firmed up my shifts above 30 percent throttle. Will I be ok or what should I do, I've been inside these before so I can handle most anything. I really don't want to do a major kit. Please help.
I wouldnt worry about it ill it dies , But be ready for it to , I not big on turing the line up though prefer a mild shift kit with stock trans

Yes that is and option , can use the 94 electronics and make the car electrically a 94 but im not sure if its cost effective or of all it would entail

I would just goback with a built 700r4 same trans as the 4l60e just not PCM controlled by far the easy and lease costly swap
