Trans Slipping? Help please!
Trans Slipping? Help please! I noticed when i'm on the highway driving 50-80mph the transmission just seems to disengage.
I was doing 70mph eariler and I gased it a little bit and my Rpms shotup but the car hardly moved forward, it didn't slow down though. I can hammer it and nothing will happen until it hits about 5k then the trans seems to engage and the car takes off.
The car has 136k on the clock 99 WS6 a4. Bone stock -slp lid i put on a few days ago. Yes, I race it at the strip, however it only has had 18 total passes, 8 of those were today, BUT the transmission was doing this last night when I was driving to my parents house and on the way to the track. It also, does not do this at low speeds.
I think it might be the T/C not locking up but I don't honestly know. Can someone provide some insight to this? Thanks
I don't know if this has anything to do with this, but after I put that lid I hit a new best, 13.41@102.81 to a 13.25@14.97. I did throw a MAF and both o2 sensor codes at the track.

Are you getting and ses light now .But honestly does not sound like a converter issue sounds more like the tran is actually slipping , Probably 3-4 clutch going out

Yeah, you were right. About two hours ago my tranny died. No 3rd or 4th gear 
What do you recommend to rebuild it? Because i'm thinking about just putting a t56 in so I don't have to deal with auto tranny problems anymore...
