Don't know about quality, but I do know you can't just bolt up any TH400 to an LS1. You have to change out the input shaft, convert the speed sensor to an electronic sender, modify or buy a different cross member, get a different driveshaft, have an adapter plate, etc.

Yeah i know i will have to switch all kinds of stuff. Plus it wont handle with the stock rearend. But for 800 bucks it seems like a great deal. But then i would have to get someone to put a transbrake on it and all.

Check out the prices for valve bodies with t-brakes...usually in the $400 range. You will have to change the entire valve body to use a trans-brake.

So in the end it would be cheaper just to get someone to build the trans for me already with the transbrake and all.

I had my TH400 built locally for right at 1500. That's with a reverse manual valvebody and a transbrake. As far as I know there is nothing that needs to be changed regarding the input shaft though. And my TH400 bolts right up to my block there is just one bolt that doesn't get used.

Sounds awesome. Hopefully my dads old transmission guy could build me one for a good price. He is the guy that worked on the transmission for my dads friends car which was a a TH400 with a clutch. Kind of like a lenco. Where you just pop the clutch to go from N to 1 and the rest is auto. And the sick thing was they would drop off of 8000 RPM to launch the car. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
