Default converter and gearing choice

I'm thinking about getting a SY4000 and I currently have 3:42 gears in my SS. Is this a good idea or should I change gear ratio. Maybe to 3:73 or 4:11 not sure what I should do. I have a 2000 SS with all the bolt-ons (FLP's,ASP crank pulley, shift kit,ect.ect.ect). I haven't seen to many people on this board with this converter is it a bad choice.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Jimmy

Default Re: converter and gearing choice

The Super Yank 4000 is an excellent converter...especially for street racing with nitrous. Unless this is a 90% strip car, you will be happier keeping your 3.42 gears. Very little ET to be gained with gears once you have a converter that good.

Thanks for the info Patrick. I was unsure about that converter but now I feel much better. I'm looking forward to putting that converter in my car now. I hope this converter will put me into the 11's <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> . Thanks again
